Goddess of love, beauty and pleasure, emerging from the foam of the sea as her name betrays, goddess Aphrodite (Venus) is said to have been born in Cyprus. The most beautiful among gods and humans, Aphrodite, had as her weapons all the beauty, grace, craving and love that she inspired in every creature.
On the one hand, Aphrodite was honored by ancient Greeks as a peaceful protector of family and political life and, on the other hand, she was honored as a goddess of passion, momentum and eroticism. The combined power of these two different sides exalts Aphrodite into the One, True and Universal Love and one of a series of concepts, such as Sensitivity, Generosity and Charisma, physical and spiritual.
Aphrodite is the personification of Mother Goddess. She is matched and interwoven with every aspect of the human civilization that expresses love, fertility, war, death, magic, marriage, mourning and many more. The titles describing her as Queen of Heaven, Daughter, Warrior, Mother - demonstrate the influence Aphrodite exerted on ancient Greek culture.
Her emblem were white pigeons, while the goddess’ sacred beings were pigeons, sparrows, horses and swans. Aphrodite had as escorts, the Graces, Ivy, Harmonia, Pitho and the Ores.
