Roberto Cavalli
S/S 2011

"Private Eden"
A big fan of “barely there” and inimical to minimalism, Roberto Cavalli’s RTW Spring 2011 collection was a spectacle of bare necessities as the designer himself sees them. Celebrating 40 years in business, all the attention was given to creations made of his favorite materials, like a croc and snake skin jacket, lace pants, sheer chiffon gowns, beads and sequins everywhere and naturally, a lot of fringing. Turning the jet-set dolls into tawny-maned tigresses, it was once more all in the craftsmanship with his patchworking, lacing and whipstitching reaching new heights. With a whimsical background full of flowers and fronds, models looking like out of an island hothouse movie setting, Roberto Cavalli and wife Eva enjoyed their private Eden with a single bow.
