The house of Fendi opened in 1925 when Edoardo and Adele Fendi established a handbag and fur shop in Via del Plebiscito, Rome. They won immediate acclaim for the quality of their products and an empire was quickly born. In 1962, the Fendis signed up the German designer Karl Lagerfeld, who immediately created the inverted FF logo, that joined the growing list of international status symbols.
